Did anyone have the displeasure to see in person on watch on-line or cable the exchange between Beth Mason and Dawn Zimmer regarding budget documents during the last city council meeting. I was both disgusted and embarassed by that childish exchange. I put some more thought behind possible motivations considering both are front runner candidates for Mayor. Here is a thought I'd like to present to the readership for comments... and please do, don't be shy as there is no right or wrong answer, but rather our hypothesis. Here goes, first the set up: Beth asked Dawn numerous times during that portion of the meeting if Dawn had copies of the new budget on her desk or if she had received any budget related documents that the State Fiscal Monitor had shared that she in turn could share with the council members. Dawn repeatedly answered no but finally came clean in saying she had a few documents; regardless it was apparent to me that Dawn did not want to share any documents with the city council. Now my hypothesis: is Dawn's reasoning personal or professional? By "personal" I mean, is she doing this as a campaign strategy move so as to have a hand up on Beth or was it "professional " in which case the State Fiscal Monitor may have asked Dawn not to share as the budget is far from being completed. Please weigh in with your thoughts.
