Tax Assessment Hearings/Appeals

My appeal is in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what to expect. I supposed there are many people in the same situation. If anyone has already been in front of the commission I am very interested to hear about their experience. What questions were asked, what evidence seemed to work. Any thoughts or suggestions are also welcome. Thanks!

I'm in the same situation as you - my appeal date is set for 7/7/09. Is yours before then?
If not, I'll let you know how it goes, what they ask, documents needed, etc.

Also, in case you haven't seen, on the bottom right hand of this site's home page under "Tax Related Guides and Forms" are some helpful docs relating to the appeals process.

They offered me a number that was close to what I requested, so I settled with them. I am not sure if they are looking to bring anyone to trial, but you should be prepared with price per square foot, etc. The guy was very nice and I did not even wait that long. I think I lucked out because they said they have 81 cases this afternoon and I was the 2nd person to be seen.
